Deegan is an intern student at Liberty University.
Deegan attended James Madison University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies in 2020. Deegan is now working toward her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University Online.
Deegan has experience working with a variety of individuals. Deegan has been with Bridge to Balance for over six months as an intern helping to assist our children, adolescents, adults, and families with various presenting issues including behavior management, attention issues, life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, and trauma. When spiritual beliefs are requested to be involved in Deegan is passionate about helping others find healing in Christ. The individuals and families that have worked with Deegan this past year have been highly impressed by her mature counseling skills, compassion, and comfort she provides through her counseling treatment.
One of her favorite memories in life was going on a mission trip to Panama City Beach, Florida and working with Team Effort Missions as a summer staff. Deegan was able to counsel, lead, and build relationships with the homeowners and youth in the mission field.
Currently, Deegan is a Young Life volunteer leader at Herndon High School. At Herndon, Deegan spends time developing relationships with adolescents, pointing them Christ, leading Bible studies, being someone that they can talk to about their problems in life, and mentoring them throughout their high school journey. Another experience Deegan has is working with children. Since she was a teenager, Deegan has nannied several families, helped in children’s church, and truly enjoys being in the presence of little ones. For these reasons, Deegan is being trained in play therapy techniques and creative modes of counseling to better serve children and adolescents.
In her free time, Deegan teaches yoga and group exercise classes, takes her dog on hikes, plays board games and cards, and plays her guitar. Most importantly, Deegan loves spending time with family, her church family, and her friends.
Deegan is eager to help others reach their full potential and find healing. She is excited to put into practice what she is learning in school and walk alongside clients in their journeys to find balance and healing.
